My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, November 22nd, 2025 at Woodbridge High School in Woodbridge, NJ from 11am - 3pm!

Meet Chase! Chase is a 5 year-old, 80 pound Labrador who's ready to find his forever home.

Chase is a very friendly, sweet, docile, and loving pup. He would be an amazing best friend who loves to be by your side, either with his people going on adventures, or watching tv and lounging at home. He is goofy, lovable, and gentle. He is very chill and calm, but if asked to play, he’s all in!

Chase is very smart and a quick learner. He very attentive, trying to read and understand your cues. Although he doesn’t know many commands, Chase knows “sit”, and is learning to give his “paw”. He knows how to go down the stairs, but is still working on how to walk “up” the stairs appropriately. He didn’t know how to go up steps initially, but he has since learned that he can “fly” up the steps! With time and patience, he will learn how to properly walk up steps.

Chase loves belly rubs and putting his head on your lap. He loves tennis balls and toys, and he’s also very gentle with his toys. Chase is house trained, but he may occasionally mark when he’s in a new environment as he gets comfortable.

If you’re looking for an amazing family dog or a best friend, Chase will be the one for you!

Chase is currently being fostered in Long Valley, NJ and his adoption fee is $600.

Chase is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
