My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buzz and Bear are a bonded pair of rats who are inseparable and full of personality. Buzz is curious and adventurous, always exploring new toys and corners of their cage, while Bear is calm, affectionate, and loves to snuggle up for cozy naps. Together, they make the perfect pair, balancing playful energy with gentle companionship.

This duo thrives on interaction, treats, and enrichment, and they’re happiest in a spacious cage with tunnels, hammocks, and plenty of things to climb and chew. Buzz and Bear are looking for a forever home where they can stay together and get lots of love, attention, and safe playtime.

If you’re ready to welcome a lively, loving pair into your life, Buzz and Bear are eager to meet you!

More about this shelter

Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) is an open-admission, no-kill shelter dedicated to strengthening the relationship between animals and humans through adoptions and education – making a more compassionate community possible.

Our mission is to lead the community in animal welfare and assure sanctuary for animals in need. To that end, we envision a community where all animals are treated with compassion, dignity and respect. We invite the public to join us in our cause to spread humane sentiments throughout our community for the betterment of animals and people alike.

Incorporated in 1965, HAWS has grown along with our community, evolving into a vibrant organization and a lively facility that is the #1 resource for pets and their people.
