An elderly family member cared for him until he could be placed in rescue. When he arrived, his skin was bright red and itchy — likely due to environmental and possible food allergies. With love and care, Roo has made incredible progress. He now receives Cytopoint injections and medicated baths, which have helped his skin heal beautifully. Ongoing Care Roo may need continued support to stay comfortable, such as: •A novel protein diet to minimize food sensitivities •Occasional Cytopoint injections to manage allergies Why You’ll Love Him Roo is the kind of dog who makes life easier and brighter. He’s the perfect mix of playful and relaxed, happy to join in on adventures or simply curl up by your side. His foster says he’s a joy to have around — affectionate without being demanding, and always ready to learn. Roo is ready to find his forever family! If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Roo is waiting to meet you.

Adoptions by Appointment
We've got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt! The adoption process begins online, and all adoptions are done by appointment only. In most cases, animals are eligible to go home right away, so be prepared for your new animal to leave with you.
- Potential adopters complete an online adoption questionnaire at https://www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet .
- If approved, adopters can then interact with the animal they wish to adopt. It is best for all members of the household to meet the animal prior to going home. Note: Shelter staff reserve the right to deny any adoption if we feel it is not in the best interest of the animal.
- Renters bring rental pet policy at time of adoption. Not having the rental pet policy available may delay or nullify an adoption.
- Adopters must be 18 years or older, and have valid drivers license or photo identification.
- Pet licenses are required for dogs and cats in the City of Everett and unincorporated Snohomish County.
- The adoption fee must be paid at the time of adoption. We accept Visa, Mastercard or cash. We are unable to accept checks for payment of fees or services.
