My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Georgia is a friendly, affectionate girl who knows exactly how to ask for what she wants—with the most adorable little chirp you've ever heard! This sweet lady has perfected the art of communication and will happily chirp her way into your heart (and onto your lap) whenever she's in the mood for attention.
This charming girl is all about the good life: pets, cuddles, and quality time with her favorite humans. Georgia's loving personality makes her an ideal companion for anyone looking for a cat who genuinely enjoys human interaction. Whether you're relaxing on the couch or going about your day, Georgia will be nearby, ready to chirp a friendly reminder that it's time for some affection.
If you're looking for a sweet, communicative companion who will fill your home with her unique little voice and endless affection, Georgia is ready to meet you!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Northeast Iowa (HSNEI) is a 501(c)(3) humane society founded in 1995, in Decorah, Iowa, to help homeless companion animals in the five-county area of Northeast Iowa (Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard, and Winneshiek counties). Since our founding, we have offered numerous services including dog and cat rescue, fostering and adoption services, humane education, safety and family fun fairs, microchipping for pet identification, financial assistance in spaying/neutering and pet referral services.

Our rescue and adoption program provides temporary care at the Love & Friendship Adoption Center and in foster homes for unwanted and abandoned animals. We also provide a website to help in finding adoptive homes for these animals.

In 2013 the Spay/Neuter Assistance Program of Northeast Iowa (SNAP) joined HSNEI to become one organization working for animals in northeast Iowa.

HSNEI is a Best Friends Network Partner and a PetCo Foundation Partner.
