Marguerite: From Shuttered Soul to Social Butterfly

Marguerite has officially found her wings! While the busy shelter life was a bit too much for this petite 2-year-old brown tabby, she has spent the last few weeks flourishing in a foster home. We are thrilled to report that her `shy shell` is a thing of the past—Marguerite is now a confident, curious, and incredibly sweet girl who is ready to find her forever people.

Marguerite has traded her nerves for an outgoing, `purr-first` personality. In her foster home, she has revealed herself to be a deeply affectionate companion who seeks out head pets and ear scratches. She is no longer hiding; she’s exploring, engaging, and showing us just how much love she has to give.

Because she has gained so much confidence around other animals in her foster home, her foster family believes Marguerite may enjoy having a feline companion to play with and learn from. She would thrive in a home that offers a steady routine, a patient family to celebrate her journey from wallflower to friend, and a commitment to slow, proper introductions with resident pets.

Marguerite is spayed and has received core vaccinations (feline distemper, rabies), flea preventative, has been dewormed, and is microchipped.

1.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

If you are interested in adopting and meeting one of our adoptable animals one-on-one, we will have you fill out our adoption questionnaire.

2.
Meet the Pet

After completing the adoption questionnaire, you will be paired with one of our Adoption Counselors to help you find the right match.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

If a match is made, we will finalize the adoption paperwork and have you sign an adoption contract.

4.
Take the Pet Home

Once the contract is signed you may take your new pet home, typically same day!

The Fox Valley Humane Association believes in caring for pets and their people. We have an open adoption process, and our goal is to get to know potential adopters on a personal level and best match them with a new companion. We encourage you to stop by during our open hours to meet our adoptable animals.

The Fox Valley Humane Association is open to the public during the following hours. You do not need an appointment to view our adoptable animals, we welcome visitors anytime during our viewing hours. In order to best serve you, please plan on arriving at least 30 minutes prior to closing to meet with an Adoption Counselor and ensure adequate time to visit with our adoptable animals.
