My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💙 Meet Pete the Cat 💙
Sometimes the most special souls come wrapped in the smallest bodies. Pete is one of those once-in-a-lifetime kittens who has already weathered more than any baby should.

Pete found his way to Detroit Animal Control, scared, tiny, and in need of a little extra medical love. One of his eyes carries a cloudy spot from an old injury — a reminder of the rough start he had. It waters from time to time, but with his little eye drops and a gentle hand, he does just fine. And Pete? He never lets it dim his spirit.

And yet… we know the world can be unkind to kittens like Pete. Black cats are too often overlooked. Kittens with imperfect eyes are passed by. But if you spend even two minutes with this boy, you’ll understand: his heart shines brighter than any flaw ever could.

Pete is pure joy wrapped in fur.
🐾 He adores playing with other cats
🐾 Lives for his wet food dinner
🐾 Runs toward life with happy, goofy, playful energy
🐾 Just wants someone to choose him — finally, forever

We believe with our whole hearts that there is someone out there who will look at Pete and see what we see: a loving, resilient, beautiful kitten who deserves the world.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign… maybe Pete is it. 💙

Additional adoption info

We do not use a first-come, first-serve process when adopting out our animals. Instead, we focus on best fit for each individual animal. The process is intended to ensure a long-term successful adoption for both the family and pet.

All of our adoptable animals have had a complete veterinarian checkup. Our dogs and puppies are heartworm tested. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, and have received age-appropriate vaccines before going to their forever homes.

Feline adoption fees - $125 for kittens under 8 months, $100 if over 8 months, and $60 if over 9 years old.

Canine adoption fees - $350 for puppies under 1 year, $300 if over 1 year, and $200 if over 7 years old.
