My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet 45lb/4 Year Old gorgeous girl GOLDIE! She’s energetic, sweet, loving, and has settled into foster life with confidence and so much affection. Goldie is happiest simply being part of the family. Goldie gets along wonderfully with the resident dog in her foster home and came in with zero signs of aggression, just friendliness, curiosity, and a whole lot of love. She adores children, melts for attention, and has clearly known love before: she offers her paw, gives kisses, and leans right in for snuggles like it’s second nature. She’s house-trained with regular outings, learning her leash manners, and working on crate training (she’s not a fan yet, but improving each day). She’s also learning her name, practicing “stay,” and figuring out household rules,  all things she’s picking up quickly with consistency and reassurance. Goldie is a high-energy girl when she’s playing, but once she’s on the couch or snuggled next to her humans, she’s peaceful and content. She’s a devoted companion through and through. Her ideal home? A warm, active household where she can be included in daily life, get plenty of affection, and feel like part of the pack. Goldie is ready to be your golden girl!

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

The first step of the adoption process is to complete an adoption application in full at www.rescuecity.nyc. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout the city. We do not have a physical location where we keep dogs.

More about this rescue

Rescue City is a no-kill, non-profit1 pet rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption organization. Our team of dedicated volunteers is based in Brooklyn, NY and serves the NYC metro and surrounding areas.

Our organization’s motto is: There’s a person for every dog, and there’s a dog for every person…it’s just a matter of time. This applies whether you are looking to adopt a pet, or would like to make a positive impact on the lives of animals. At Rescue City we believe it is our moral responsibility to defend the lives of abused, abandoned, and neglected animals.
We take on helpless stray and surrendered animals, as well as those at the top of the euthanasia list at local and international shelters. We place our rescues in nurturing foster homes while they rebuild their lives through physical and mental rehabilitation. Following a thorough – but hassle free – adoption process, our Rescues are placed in loving, responsible, and committed permanent homes. Every rescue is fully vetted and altered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated upon adoption. Our commitment to our rescues does not stop once the adoption paperwork is signed. We stress the importance of responsible pet ownership, and we educate our Fosters, Adopters, and community on what it means to be a good pet owner.
