My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Coy, a sweet 1-year-old girl with a gentle heart and a playful spirit! Coy can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she warms up, her affectionate and attention-loving personality shines. She enjoys playtime, especially with other dogs, and would thrive in a home that understands she may need a little patience as she settles in.

Coy is the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who just needs a bit of time to feel completely safe. Once she does, she’ll reward you with joy, snuggles, and plenty of tail wags.

If you’re ready to open your heart to this sweet pup, please fill out an adoption application at www.metrodetroitanimals.org or call our adoption team at (313) 943-2697 ext. 6001 to learn more about Coy!

For current adoption fees, please see our website, www.metrodetroitanimals.org. Adoption fee includes: age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, ID tag, fecal / worming, basic physical and behavior assessment. Dogs (6 months and older) receive an occult heartworm test. For an additional $20, cats (12 weeks and older) can be tested for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) / FLV (feline leukemia).

More about this shelter

Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit (FAMD) brings a little more love into the world by celebrating the special bond between an animal and their “person.” At FAMD, we don’t just rescue dogs and cats, we make life-changing connections with the people who adopt them.

We bring our passion and animals into the community with events that help bring together dogs and cats with loving people. And our outreach programs help promote education and animal welfare legislation locally, so that fewer animals have to spend another minute waiting for their forever home.

FAMD’s new state-of-the-art Animal Adoption and Education Center at 16121 Reckinger Road in Dearborn offers animals comfortable housing and medical support. It’s where our staff and volunteers work every day to make Metro Detroit a happier, more loving place for both two-legged and four-legged creatures alike.
