More About Mary
-Friendly and gentle with cats
-Has made some dog friends in our care
-Loves meeting new people and leans in for affection
-Resilient, sweet, and incredibly trusting
-Carries herself with quiet strength and a loving heart
Mary is a survivor. Despite being surrendered after her dad was deported, she continues to meet each day with hope and trust. Her capacity to love, even in the face of heartbreak, is something truly remarkable.
Her resilience shows up in the sweetest ways. Mary greets every person with warmth and softness, leaning in for comfort and sharing joy with everyone she meets. She has made some dog friends while in our care and enjoys their companionship. She has also met cats and was friendly and respectful with them, showing a gentle curiosity that fits her kind nature.
Mary’s story has touched many hearts, and we are grateful for the compassion people have shown her. But her experience is not unusual. All across the country, dogs are surrendered due to deportations, housing instability, and families facing unimaginable challenges.
If you are able, please remember your local shelters during this time of great need. There are many dogs, just like Mary, waiting for stability, safety, and love. Sometimes a small act of kindness is the beginning of their new chapter.

More about this rescue
Animal Farm Foundation gets to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
Located in Dutchess County NY, AFF has been working nationally to secure equal treatment and opportunity for “pit bull” dogs since 1985.
OUR ORGANIZATION
Animal Farm Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, has been rescuing and re-homing animals, as well as making grants to other humane organizations, since the mid-1980's.
We currently dedicate our resources to securing equal treatment and opportunity for "pit bull" dogs. Whether the dog is called a "pit bull" because of a documented pedigree, or merely on the basis of physical appearance, recognizing that these dogs are individuals for whom we are responsible is an integral step toward a compassionate future for all dogs.
