My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Those Angel Eyes Are Waiting Just for You!

Meet Hazelnut, the little black-and-white showstopper with the soulful eyes and the cutest dipped-in-white paws. One look at her sweet face and gentle expression and you can tell she’s just waiting for her person to notice her and say, “You’re home.”

At 7 months old, Hazelnut is in that perfect stage of life where everything is new and exciting. Like most pups her age, she’s a mix of playful energy and soft, cuddly moments. She’s ready to learn the house-dog basics, go for walks, explore the world, and then curl up nearby once the day winds down. With positive guidance, structure, and lots of love, she’ll grow into the kind of loyal, loving companion you can build a lifetime of memories with.

Hazelnut doesn’t know she’s still waiting — she just knows she has so much love to give. She deserves a family who will see her potential and make her part of their daily life…not just a pet, but a true family member.

Ready to make Hazelnut your new family member?

Submit an adoption application and be sure to ask for Hazelnut by name. Don’t wait for someone else to scoop her up — this sweet girl is ready to grow up in a real home, with a person or family to call her very own.

Additional adoption info

Thank you for visiting!

If interested in our adoptables please contact us at hopefultailsadoptions@outlook.com, and let us know who you're interested in meeting. You must fill out an adoption application if interested in adopting followed by an adoption contract.

All dogs require a $100 training deposit. Once confirmation of the completion of a training class has been sent to the rescue, you will receive your deposit back in full.

As we are a rescue all of our adult dogs/puppies for adoption must be spayed and neutered. Although we make every attempt to have this done before finding their adoptive families, this is not always possible. Please speak with your adoption coordinator to see of this service has already been performed or they will explain to you if your new dog/puppy will need this service while in your care at no cost to you.

When emailing please include your phone number to help speed up the adoption process. Also, for the safety of our dogs, we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Joliet, Illinois, to allow our volunteers to do home checks, if necessary.
