My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brody — a tender-hearted, 3-year-old black tri Australian Shepherd whose story begins with heartbreak but is now filled with hope.

Brody was found by police after they were called to the home of an elderly woman who had sadly passed away. This loyal boy stayed faithfully by his mom’s side, grieving deeply when help arrived. He was gently brought to the shelter, confused and heartbroken after losing the only family he had ever known.

When we heard Brody’s story — a devoted pup suddenly alone in the world — we knew we couldn’t let him face that loss without love. A wonderful foster stepped up, someone with Aussie experience who also has a female Aussie of their own, and together they opened their home and hearts to Brody. The two pups have since become buddies, offering each other comfort and companionship as Brody begins to heal from loosing his mom.

Brody is friendly, sweet, gentle, and truly one of the most loving boys you’ll ever meet. We know his late mom loved him dearly, and our greatest hope is that Brody will find a new family who will honor her memory by loving him just as much as she did.

Brody is fully vetted, vaccinated, microchipped, current on prevention, heartworm negative, and simply the best boy.

Priority will be given to families with Australian Shepherd or herding breed experience.

Brody may have endured great sadness, but his future is bright — and he’s ready for the next chapter, wrapped in the love he deserves. 🖤🐾

Additional adoption info

A home check may be performed when taking the pet home. This is up to the discretion of the rescue founder and may be performed upon her decision. This step will ensure our animals are going into the best possible homes and will never be treated as less than a best friend and companion ever again. We are dedicated to the best possible fit for each animal that comes into our care.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We are 100% foster and volunteer run. Therefore, the first step in meeting one of our adoptable pets will be to submit an adoption application by following the link posted above to either our website or directly to our adoption application. Once an adoption application has been approved, we can set up a meet and greet with the applicant and the animal the applicant is interested in. Please allow 24-72 business hours to receive an answer back about your application, as all of our volunteers and fosters have additional jobs outside of the rescue and use their spare time to provide care to these animals in our program.

Adoption events can also be found posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages located under the name "Happy Tails Canine Rescue". These events are open to the public and do not require an adoption application in advance to meet any of our pets that will be attending.
