Simba, aka Aaron Purr, is a confident, playful boy with a motor that never seems to turn off. A. Purr may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he approaches life with enthusiasm and zero hesitation making him endlessly entertaining.
He’s neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, litter trained, and ready for his furrever home. A. Purr loves climbing cat trees, chasing spring toys, and launching himself at wand toys. What he loves most is wet food, and will activate his purr motor for it, although he does well with kibble. Playtime and mealtime are serious business in his world — and he gives them his all.
When he’s especially happy or relaxed, A. Purr self-soothes by suckling on his torso. It’s a harmless little quirk that’s uniquely his. As a panleukopenia survivor, he’s already proven he’s resilient. Because of the panleuk, he spent his early kittenhood without the company of his siblings so does show a touch of “single kitten syndrome,” meaning he can get a bit mouthy if play becomes overstimulating. He’ll thrive in a home with older children or adults who understand kitten boundaries and will pause play when he needs a reset.
If a home has room for both him and his brother from another mother (Pizza Roll aka Theo Doja Cat A205989), that would be wonderful. But if not, A. Purr would do best in a home with another playful, confident cat who can help channel his energy and continue teaching him good social skills. He has proven to do well with medium-sized dogs.
He’s bold, affectionate, a little chaotic in the best way, and full of personality. A. Purr is looking for a home that sees his spark, respects his boundaries, and is ready for a playful, purring sidekick.

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.
San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.
Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
