Hi there, I’m Vennlig and I promise I’m just as friendly as my name sounds!
I used to spend my days wandering around Stafford county, trying my best to survive on my own for over a year or more. It wasn’t always easy, but I kept my heart soft and my hopes high. Then one day, I walked onto a horse farm with people who looked at me like I was something special… and honestly? I liked it. A lot! They gave me the name Vennlig, which means “friendly” in Norwegian, and I think it fits me perfectly.
I’m about 2 years old now, and I’ve traded my stray life for something much better: love, comfort, and most importantly… belly rubs. If you’ve never met me before, I’ll introduce myself the only way I know how, by flopping dramatically at your feet and begging to receive belly rubs.
I’m a whopping 13 pounds of laid-back, gray fluff, and I trust humans more than most people expect from a cat who had to fend for himself. You can trim my nails, give me medicine, and I even walk on a leash like a true gentleman. Some say that makes me dog-like, but I’m not offended!
I actually get along great with other cats. I like to play, but respect others personal space if they tell me to. I tend to be the "bigger cat" and walk away when tension builds, but would love a friend to play or cuddle with too. Dogs… well, I’m still trying to figure them out. They seem loud and unpredictable, but if you introduce them slowly and gently, I’m very willing to try. I mean, people do say I act like them!
Now that I’m safe and cared for, I’m ready for my next chapter. While I am FIV positive, don't let that stop you! I am very healthy and I just need to be kept inside where I can't fight with any of those mean tomcats! Like I said, I get along great with other cats, so if they are also FIV positive, or they are friendly like me, that would be wonderful; otherwise, if you take it slow, I will be fine with another feline friend. I’d love a home where I can feel completely secure, explore at my own pace, and give all the affection I’ve been saving up. I promise I’ll be your loyal cuddle buddy, your mellow companion, and your full-time belly-rub volunteer.
If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle soul with a silly side and a whole lot of love to give without being needy, I’m your guy. I cannot wait to meet the person or family who will finally be mine forever."
