My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jamison 💙

Update: Jamison has enjoyed several sleepovers in a volunteer’s home, where he’s shown just how well he does in a home environment. He has proven he can peacefully coexist with cats and feels much more comfortable outside the shelter. He’s making great progress with potty training and has been described as a perfect guest.

Jamison is a gentle soul who just needs a little time to feel safe. He can be shy at first, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and loving personality truly shines. When Jamison trusts you, you’ll see just how affectionate and tender he really is.

He absolutely loves his chew toys and stuffies—they’re his favorites and a great way to help him relax. Jamison responds beautifully to gentle guidance, and calm redirection helps him “unfreeze” when he’s feeling unsure. He’s learning every day that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.

Jamison is also wonderful about respecting boundaries. If he finds something that looks like a toy but isn’t meant for him, he’s happy to trade it for one of his own. He’s still building confidence on walks and will do best with a patient adopter who understands that slow progress is still progress.

With kindness, consistency, and love, Jamison will continue to blossom into a wonderful companion. He’s looking for a calm, supportive home where he can feel safe, loved, and encouraged as his confidence grows each day.

All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.
