Meet Walter – Now Available for Adoption Walter is a handsome 6 year old male Lab mix weighing approximately 82 lbs who is now available for adoption after completing his stray hold. He was found on Lake Estates Drive in Rockwall on 11/18/25 wearing a collar and with an unregistered microchip, but sadly no owner came forward. Walter is ready for a fresh start and a loving forever home. This big guy has been settling in well at the shelter and is eager to find a family of his own. A meet-and-greet is encouraged to ensure the best match. Medical Update: Walters is neutered, Micorchipped, current on his rabies vaccination, Bordetella and DAPPV. He did test heartworm positive but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, his treatment is sponsored, and Walter is able to start treatment right away. Feel free to ask staff if you have any questions about heartworms or Walter's treatment. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.
