My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Age: 12 Years (Partially blind)

Meet Pappy Dill

Pappy Dill is a 12-year-old senior with the sweetest soul and the biggest heart. He is partially blind in both eyes, but don’t let that worry you—Pappy doesn’t require any special care. He simply appreciates a gentle heads-up that you’re nearby, whether that’s letting him smell you or making a little noise before approaching.

For most of his life, Pappy lived in a very overcrowded environment, sharing a small space with many other cats (including his buddy, Biggie Smalls). Since coming into our care, his world has finally opened up—and watching him discover life beyond four walls has been nothing short of magical. His confidence is growing, his curiosity is blooming, and his spark is shining brighter every day.

Pappy may need a little time to warm up and learn to trust, but once he does, it’s truly an honor. He is an absolute lovebug who craves attention—think nonstop pets, belly rubs, and a determined head pressing into your hands when he wants more affection (which is always!).

We’re hoping to find a home that will show Pappy that life can be gentle, safe, and full of unconditional love. He adores other cats and would do best in a home with feline companions. Because of his limited vision, we recommend a dog-free home or one with a calm, non-active dog, along with respectful older children.

Pappy Dill has waited a long time for his happily ever after. If you’re ready to give a senior cat the love he’s always deserved, Pappy is ready to give it right back—tenfold.

Additional adoption info

The time it takes to process an application largely depends on the speed at which we are able to contact personal references. If approved, we go over an adoption contract that the adopter will sign, and it is at this time that an adoption fee is required. If an adoption does not work out for any reason, our adoption contract requires that the kitty be returned to Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc.

More about this rescue

We are a foster-based no-kill cat rescue that is working to better the lives of cats in Gloucester and Camden Counties. We do not euthanize any of the animals in our care simply to make room for new ones. Although our operation is small, each and every homeless pet in our program receives the absolute best care possible until a furrever home can be found.
We are small... but mighty. Every animal saved is a victory.
Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc. (FFRV) is an all-volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strives to save the lives of homeless animals.

Furrever Friends operates entirely on donations from caring individuals such as yourself. And, because Furrever Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your cash donations are tax-deductible. Checks can be made out to "Furrever Friends."

Our volunteers work hard to:
-Provide safe, loving care in foster homes until a furrever family can be found.
-Spay/neuter and vaccinate pets prior to adoption to help control the pet overpopulation problem.
-Find new Furrever Homes for animals only after carefully screening potential adopters.
-Raise funds through special events and projects to cover veterinary and food costs.
-Fund emergency medical care to injured or abused animals in the FFRV program through "Geronimo's Fund".
-Showcase homeless animals at various venues to help find them homes, including our PetSmart Adoption Center in Deptford, NJ.
