My name is Sitka!

Sitka is a stunning Siamese beauty with soft features, quiet bravery, and a heart that opens slowly but deeply. She came to us from a feral colony, and while she is cautious at first, she is not feral. Sitka has spent the last several weeks learning that people can be safe. Once she trusts you, she will come out of her hiding place for gentle affection and mealtime love.

This girl is playful when she feels secure. She adores chasing wand toys, batting around catnip mice, and pouncing on anything stringy. She grooms herself well and has had no litterbox issues. Sitka is curious about other cats and can be submissive in their presence. She also travels calmly, which is a lovely bonus for vet visits.

Sitka needs a patient adopter who understands that the best relationships often grow slowly. She would thrive in a quiet home with someone who can offer consistency, kindness, and the space she needs to settle in at her own pace. Her foster is happy to help her future family with the transition to set everyone up for success.

While we do allow out-of-state adoptions, the adopter must be able to travel to Charlottesville, Virginia, and meet in person at an agreed-upon time to take their cat home.

GDU does ask for a minimum adoption donation of $125.00 for cats. This minimum donation does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes age-appropriate vaccines and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound and is unable to undergo surgery. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover each animal's expenses while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals.
