My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lucky — Your Gentle, Happy Companion!

Mixed Breed | 5 years old | Male | Neutered

Weight: 22kg
Height (shoulder): 56cm
Color: Fawn/White

Rescue Story

Lucky was found on the streets in 2021 and taken into a city shelter, where he was sadly placed on the euthanasia list. He was rescued just in time but never received an adoption opportunity and has since been living in a private boarding facility.
He is now finally ready for his chance to join a loving forever family overseas.

‍‍ Socialization with People

Lucky is incredibly affectionate and gentle. He happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, leaning his body in for pets and allowing easy handling.

  • Excellent with children under 13

  • Allows lifting (comfortable being picked up with arms under his belly)

  • Friendly with both men and women

  • Confident, social, and enjoys human attention

Socialization with Other Dogs

Lucky is a true social butterfly with dogs.

  • Approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs politely

  • Invites other dogs to play

  • If another dog shows aggression, he avoids conflict and walks away
His balanced, gentle nature makes him suitable for multi-dog households.

Reaction to Cats

Even when he sees cats during walks, Lucky prefers to focus on his handler rather than chase or react.

Outdoor Behavior

  • Moderate energy level

  • Enjoys outdoor activities but settles calmly at home afterward

  • Walks beautifully on leash — no pulling

  • Experienced walker who follows his handler well

Home Behavior

  • Does not guard food from people or dogs

  • Bright, outgoing personality

  • Knows how to respect other dogs’ space and match their energy

  • Car rides: He finds getting into the car a bit scary, so he needs to be lifted in. Once inside, he rides calmly.

Personality Summary

Lucky is cheerful, well-mannered, and genuinely gentle — the kind of dog who adapts to many homes thanks to his balanced, friendly nature. He loves everyone, plays kindly with other dogs, and brings warmth and positivity wherever he goes.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
