Meet Marcel — the playful little rascal with a heart of gold!
Marcel may have started life in a feral colony, but you’d never guess it now. This curious, mischievous kitten is the first one on the scene the moment you pick up a toy. Wand wiggling? Ball rolling? Crinkle sound from across the room? Marcel is there, ready to pounce, chase, and—let’s be honest—steal toys from anyone who looks like they’re having fun without him. He’s a total playtime pro.
Marcel absolutely adores other cats. He snuggles them, follows them, joins their games, and basically wants to be everyone’s best friend. With people, he’s still building confidence, but he’s come a long way. In just a couple of weeks, he’s gone from cautious to seeking out pets and attention on his own. He’s still not a full-on cuddle bug yet, but the progress he’s making is steady, sweet, and so rewarding to watch. Marcel and Louise are siblings and would love to be adopted together. If not, each should be placed in a home with another playful cat.
This little guy is also a champ with the litter box—never a single slip-up—and he loves mealtime. He cleans his plate like a pro and celebrates food with true kitten enthusiasm.
Marcel allows petting, tolerates being picked up, and feels especially secure when he’s in his safe space. His curiosity, bravery, and growing affection make him a wonderful candidate for adoption very soon. He’s playful, social, and ready for a home that appreciates a smart, fun-loving kitten who’s blossoming more every day.

If you’re looking for a playful buddy for your resident cat—or just a little adventurer who will keep you entertained—Marcel might just be your guy!
Marcel is from a stray surrender with one sibling. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.

If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
