What is Rehome?

Keiko is an 11-year-old "puppy" who enjoys sunbathing as much as she still enjoys playing rough with her humans. I've had her for 4 years through many moves, which are starting to take a toll on her. She can be defensive and mistrusting of new people, but settles down after a week of being treated like a princess. She does not do well with other animals in the home, and can be defensive if mad-dogged on the street.
I'm looking for her "sundown owner": a stay-at-home or retired adopter who can give her the attention and stability she needs at this stage of life. She is in good health considering her age and has had regular vet care.
She enjoys a regular schedule of walks and meal-times, cannot get enough sunbathing, and loves gentle, consistent loving attention. Her first few owners did not care for her well; she has an embedded collar scar and had spinal surgery about 5-6 years ago.
Long Beach locals preferred.
