Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Steevie. I'm a sweet, silly, stinky boy who can't wait to find my forever home! My hobbies include the art of dance, growing my sweater collection, giving sweet, slobbery smooches and getting run over by cars.
I hobbled into CMHS with a hind leg that was pretty much just a bunch of loose bone chips with some fuzz on top. My leg is pretty much bionic at this point and I am supposed to stay off of it for a few more weeks while it heals. If I'm being honest though, I haven't really been putting much effort into R&R. You see, I like to pick up my healthy back leg to pee, so I have to put all my weight on my broken leg to do that. Also, as I had mentioned previously, I love to dance. The orthopedic dog surgeon wants to have me come in for a few more x-rays to make sure that everything continues to heal correctly since I've kind of been a nut through this whole process. If I find my forever home before those x-rays are scheduled, my new family will just drop me off at CMHS on the day of my appointment and the vets there will take care of me (this will be covered by my adoption fee, so you don't have to worry about all that).
Since I'm supposed to be resting, I haven't gotten to get out into the world much. When I first came to CMHS, I was pretty scared and shut down. New people were scary and I found a lot of things to be overwhelming. I've really come out of my shell in my foster home and am learning that I won't get in trouble for being silly or playing with toys. My foster mom won't let me get too goofy with my foster siblings yet while my leg is healing, but I have met several other dogs and I've gotten along really well with all of them. I don't like it when dogs that I don't know bark at me, though. It kind of stresses me out, but I'm getting braver every single day.
I have been working really really hard on my manners and know how to sit, lay down and touch. I don't get very long walks because of my leg, but I work on my leash skills every time I go out to go potty. My foster mom says that I'm a fast learner and that with continued training, I will be a rockstar!
