Drogon… A regal gentle giant. He is a beautiful, unique boy. He walks beautifully on a leash and would make an excellent companion for someone who enjoys leisurely walks. He was a bit shy at first, still adjusting to his new surroundings, but quickly showed me tail wags and enjoyed some treats. He is such a cool guy. We LOVE our seniors who come in with unique personalities and histories!

Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.

All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).

We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
