My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who doesn't need some Sunshine in their life?

Sunshine is estimated to be around 4 months old, and she is an adorable bundle of love. She is the most darling little girl who loves making new friends, and it's pretty hard not to fall in love with her loyal and loving personality. Sunshine brings rays of happiness everywhere she goes. Sunshine currently weighs about 22lbs, and we estimate she will weigh around 60lbs when fully grown.

Sunshine had a rough start to life, but she has shown us just how amazing pups can be, and she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She is always just happy to get love and attention and has been thriving in foster care.

Sunshine is the epitome of a happy puppy. She absolutely loves to play, but also enjoys a nap on the couch after all her puppy energy has burnt out. She is a moderate-energy girl who would be a perfect addition to a family looking for an adventurous companion who can also be mellow around the house. She loves to follow her foster mom around while she does chores and is the perfect work-from-home buddy. Sunshine has been doing great learning all of her basic manners, and has been quick to pick up things like sit. She will need a family who can be committed to continuing to work on her basic training to help her be the best girl she can be.

Sunshine loves other dogs and has quickly become BFFs with the other young dog in her foster home. She would love to have a playful pup in her new home, but could also do fine as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. Sunshine has been doing very well living in a home with dog-savvy cats. Sunshine could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older.

Sunshine is still working on her housetraining, so she will need a family who can be patient with her while she is learning. She has been doing great with her crate training and is happy to hang out in there for short periods during the day and sleep in there overnight.

Sunshine is such a wonderful puppy, and she is going to make a great companion. If she sounds like the adorable pup you need in your life, submit an application today!

Sunshine's adoption fee is $350.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
