My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Cutie pie Piper is an approximately 1 year old mixed breed dog. Piper came to us in a somewhat frenzied state. A leash and collar were foreign objects to her but she has come such a long way in just a few short weeks! We have learned that Piper is quite the sweetheart and has a silly, playful personality! She’s very affectionate too- leaning in for pets whenever she can. We have also learned how smart she is! She has quickly picked up basic commands and will gladly work for treats. Piper has even come a long way on her leash manners and continues to get better every day. Piper would do best in a home with someone willing to continue her training, and give her time to acclimate to home life.  Small children are not recommended since she can be a little jumpy. A fully enclosed fenced yard is required for Piper since she loves the freedom of running around and chasing a ball (and can burn off some of her energy!). Piper is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots. She’s also appears to be dog friendly, and we would consider a home with a playful male dog. If you’d like to meet Piper and give her the home she deserves, please fill out an application on our website at Rescueridge.com. If your application is a possible match, a volunteer will reach out to you to schedule a meet.

Piper is located in Monmouth County, NJ

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Just contact us at rescueridgeshelter@gmail.com, or call us at 732-681-3450, and we will be happy to provide you with an adoption application and, upon review of personal reference checks, vet checks, and possibly home visits, you may be chosen as a permanent home for that special companion. Please note that filling out an application does NOT automatically approve anyone for a specific adoption. We want to assure that the companion and adoptive family are each going to benefit from the adoption, and that it is as permanent an adoption as possible. We ask for help through donations to help cover the costs associated with keeping the companions up-to-date on vaccinations and spay/neuter programs. We request a donation of $100 for cats, and $200 - $400 for dogs, depending on the specific rescue. We are a tax-exempt organization so that any donation you make to Rescue Ridge is tax deductible, and all costs go directly to all of the animals we rescue.

More about this rescue

Rescue Ridge is a 'last-chance' rescue. Staffed 100% through the efforts and donations of volunteers, we find homes for animals that other shelters and people have given up on. Through the kindness of various boarding kennels and foster families, rescued animals are cared for until they find that final family to love them.

Rescue Ridge began by rescuing healthy, beautiful, animals that were slated to be euthanized through no fault of their own. We felt it was unfair, that because their 'humans' had no more use for them, their days were numbered. We have tried to give each and every one of these companions a new lease on life. We rescued dogs, cats, horses and any other animal that we were able to help with our limited resources. And since we have limited space, we are always searching for those willing to help foster these wonderful creatures. We are always happy to provide information on options available to anyone needing to re-home their pet for whatever reason. It is our belief that education regarding pet ownership and its responsibilities is the best hope these companions have. You will have unending rewards when you give a second chance to one of these wonderful friends. They truly are the champions of giving unconditional love.
