My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Camilo is a wonderful older gentleman that just needs a safe, quiet place to land. He is very sweet, likes to be with his people, and is friendly with dogs and cats, but would be fine as an only dog too. The first night he was in my home, he showed me his super fast zoomies, with his ears flapping in the wind, showing his happiness. He is from a hoarding situation, but has had no accidents in the house. He has been sleeping in bed with me and is quiet thru the night. He also knows to sit for food and treats. He LOVES belly rubs and snuggling with you on the sofa. Camilo is a bit nervous of strangers at first, but warms up very quickly. After a dental Dec 5th and 17 teeth pulled, Camilo is healing and ready for a home! Please consider adding this cute little man to your family!

To submit an application, you will need to create an AnimalsFirst account. Please write down the username and password that you create.

Home Check

Home visits are being done virtually due to Covid.

3.
Meet the Pet

The majority of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. Fosters will contact you to schedule a meeting with you and your dog.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Contracts will be signed through your AnimalsFirst account. Please have your login information prior to meeting the dog.

5.
Pay Fee

Payment will be made through your AnimalsFirst account. Please have your login information prior to meeting the dog.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Don't forget an adoption picture! We like to post adoption pictures to our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
