Hello... I'm Crowfeather, and I'm still learning that it's okay to be seen.
I'm a sleek black boy, which means I'm really good at blending into shadows and hiding in dark corners. Sometimes I wonder if that's why I'm shy - maybe I've gotten so used to being a little shadow that I forgot how to step into the light.
The world feels overwhelming to me. New sounds make me jump. Sudden movements send me running. Big spaces make me want to find something small to tuck myself behind. But here's what I'm learning: just because I'm scared doesn't mean I don't WANT connection. I do. I really, really do.
You know what reminds me that good things exist? FOOD. When I smell something delicious, when the food bowl appears, suddenly my fear takes a back seat to my hungry belly. Food is proof that the world can be good. That people can be kind. That maybe, just maybe, it's safe to come a little closer.
I watch my siblings - Ardana with his confidence, Feathertail with his social butterfly energy - and sometimes I wish I could be like them. But I'm Crowfeather. I'm the quiet one. The careful one. The one who needs a little more time, a little more patience, a little more understanding.
Black cats like me often get overlooked. People want the bold, outgoing kittens. But we shy ones? We have just as much love to give - we just need someone willing to wait for it. Someone who won't give up on us. Someone who understands that trust, once earned, is FOREVER.
I'm looking for a quiet home with someone who sees past my fear to the gentle heart underneath. Someone who'll use treats and soft words to help me feel safe. Someone who wants to be the person a shy black cat finally chooses.
I may hide in the shadows, but I'm dreaming of the light.
Will you help me find it?
