My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mabel! Her foster mom calls her Lady Mabel, because, well, she is such an elegant girl! She is an amazing cat who showed up in a neighborhood with her brother Maxwell (referred to as Sir Maxwell by foster mom!) and no one was looking for them. They were not chipped or sterilized so their foster who found them on her property took them in. Mabel is a charmer with a wonderful loving personality and a big need for pets and a lap drive by. She jumps into a lap, stays for a minute or two and purrs and kneads (if you are in need of a massage, she is your gilrl) and then moves on to play or nap in the sun on the windowsill with a view. She is super playful and can keep herself busy with her brother, cat toys, especially the rechargable laser dot toy. Mabel is super fun and cuddly and gorgeous with her dark orange fur, white toes and orange-colored eyes. She has quite the striped tail, too, which could probably use it's very own Facebook page since it is always contentedly moving and has THE best stripes. She talks with a soft mew and has lots to say to the cat mice toys. It is very sweet. She loves a scratching post and is good with nail trims and is so good at the vert and in the car and has a great appetite. She would do well with a cat buddy in a forever home. If, by chance, you are looking for a bonded pair, she and her brother Maxwell would be the perfect duo. Sibling pairs are so wonderful to add to the family since there is no need for any cat introductions! They come already introduced and happy to be together. Her estimated birth date is May 30, 2025. Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All applications are submitted to an adoption board for approval to ensure a happy forever home for both owner and pet. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match. We will be in contact with you during this process.

Puppies are ready to go home after their 2nd of 3 shots and spay/neuter are complete. The 3rd. shot is included in the adoption fee.

All pets are to be kept as indoor, non-working, members of your family and are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped.

A safe pet home visit is included in the adoption fee.

More about this rescue

Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before being adopted to their forever families.

We consists of a small core group of volunteers who care about the welfare of our homeless pets. We are located in Richardson, Texas and survive solely from your generous donations and fundraiser's (after fundraiser...after fundraiser!). All of our pets live in our homes as we do not have an actual facility. Because they live within the dynamics of the foster families and are exposed to children of all ages and other pets, we find that that our foster cats and dogs are more adoptable as they have already been socialized to live in a family environment.

We have been in existence since April 2008 and have already rescued over 600 dogs and cats from local kill shelters and other unfortunate situations.

All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered before being adopted. These pets also receive all appropriate vaccinations and are microchipped. In effort to reduce the possibility of the pet being returned, adopters are carefully screened to be sure that the personality of both the pet and adopter are a good match.
