My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lyra

Lyra’s story began at a seafood market, where she was a friendly stray who loved the smell of fresh fish and the kindness of people who fed her. Now safe and cozy indoors, she’s learning what it means to be a beloved house cat.

Lyra is still adjusting to life inside — new sounds and spaces can make her a little cautious — but once she trusts you enough to let you get close, she melts into your hand for pets and affection. She has a gentle soul and a soft spot for quiet companionship.

Don’t let her shy side fool you, though — when the evening “zoomies” strike, Lyra turns into a playful blur! She loves batting around her toys and showing off her silly side. One of her favorite games is hiding under the bed and gently touching your feet when you walk by, as if to say, “Tag, you’re it!” And for reasons known only to her, Lyra is also deeply committed to closing every door she can reach — a tiny, furry guardian of proper household boundaries.

Lyra would do best in a calm home with patient people who can give her time to feel safe and loved. Once she opens up, you’ll discover a sweet, quirky companion who will make you smile every single day.

We provide all initial wellness care, including vaccines, deworming, checking for mites etc., for each kitten and cat under our care. All cats and kittens available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, combo tested and given a rabies vaccine. Our adoption fees also cover lifetime microchip registration. To apply to adopt, please visit our website www.fcocinc.org and click "Adopt" under the cat you're interested in.
