Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ABOUT RODNEY
Rodney is ready to come home with you! This adorable little shortie came to us as a stray, and he’s quickly won over every staff member and volunteer with his cuddly, affectionate personality. The moment he trusts you, he melts right into your arms. Rodney is a joy, he walks nicely on leash with his nose to the ground, happily following every interesting scent. Kennel life, however, has been tough on him. The noise and unfamiliar surroundings make him barky and jumpy, but once he’s out on a doggy day out, he transforms into a calm, well-mannered companion who just wants to explore and be near his people. Since Rodney didn’t have a known home before arriving here, he may need a bit of extra guidance as he settles into a new environment. New sounds, unfamiliar people, or sudden changes can make him nervous, so patience and reassurance will go a long way. His ideal home would be a quieter one, fewer visitors, no other dogs, and someone who can help him feel safe as he learns the rhythm of family life. With the right person, Rodney is sure to blossom into the sweetest little sidekick. He’s ready to give his whole heart to whoever gives him a chance!
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
