Meet Ricochet! This young guy breezed through quarantine and is now ready to find his forever home.
Ricochet arrived as an owner surrender. He’s blind in his right eye and was initially nervous in new situations, but after spending time at the Ranch and meeting new people and equine friends, he has become much more comfortable and his true personality has begun to shine! He enjoys hanging out with other minis in his dry-lot turnout and munching on hay in his spare time.
While he’s a bit more cautious on his right side due to his limited vision, Ricochet becomes much more confident once he’s familiar with his surroundings. He is still working on his confidence when being trimmed by the farrier but has come a very long way from how he was upon his arrival. His future adopter should have a patient and gentle farrier when working with this little guy. Richochet is also wonderful for staff and volunteers when being brought to and from turnout.
Although his conformation isn’t perfect, our vets don’t believe it will prevent him from being trained to pull a cart or carry small children. He’d also be perfectly happy simply being a pasture companion, spending time with other small equine as he does here at the Ranch. Because he’s a mini, he’ll need either a dry-lot turnout or a grazing muzzle if turned out on pasture.
Adoption Fee: $500 Height: 33.5 inches Maximum Carrying Weight (includes tack and rider): 30lbs
