Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ahoy there, adopters! Meet Bonnie- a 4-year-old girl with all the energy and excitement of a puppy. This sweetheart is definitely high energy and she loves all sorts of different activities to spend that energy on: playing chase, sniffing for treats in a snuffle mat or in the grass, chasing a flirt pole, solving puzzle toys, and more! She's very treat-motivated, so continuing her training with positive reinforcement should be a breeze. She loves a good cuddle and will happily climb into your lap for full body pets and love. She isn't always a fan of other dogs touching her food and toys, so if she is going to a home with another dog, our behavior team will talk with you to set her up for success! We're not sure how he feels about cats or young kids in the home, but she may do best in a calmer home, as she tends to get pretty wound up when there's a lot going on. What we do know is that this little goofball is super sweet and ready to rock your world!

Adopters can stop in during open hours to find their new pet! There may be different criteria based on the individual animal.
2.

Our application is more of a survey in person. We find out more about your home and lifestyle to make sure the adoption will be fur-ever.
3.
Meet the Pet
We will provide you with all the information on the pet and then set you up with a space to interact with your potential new best friend.
4.
Sign Adoption Contract
Super easy and can be done through your phone!
5.
Pay Fee
Yep! Fees vary based on age and species.
6.
Take the Pet Home
Congratulations!
Additional adoption info
We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!
Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.
When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.
What you will need in order to adopt:
A valid photo ID with your current address.
We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.
If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.
Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.
Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
