My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 6/27/25: Jackson (who his foster parents call Rowdy) was awesome at the Bulldog Kia Adoption Event today. He was great with everyone he met - including people, other dogs, and kids. He has learned to sit, and loves showing off for treats! We suspect Jackson gets overlooked because he's a Georgia Black Dog, but he's a real sweetheart! Don't miss the chance to adopt this lovely guy. His foster family reports that he does well with their other animals. They said that he even got into their guinea pigs cage one day, not to hurt them but to try to sleep in the cage with them! He can stay in his crate, but they find that he doesn't really need to be crated in the house. He's just a great dog that needs someone to give him a chance. Could that be you? Call the shelter today to set up a meet and greet with his foster parents!

----------------------

Meet Jackson a lovable pup with a heart as big as his wagging tail! This sweet boy is full of charm and always ready to make a new friend- especially if they have four legs and a playful spirit. Whether he's romping around the yard of sharing toys at the dog park, Jackson, favorite thing in the world is playtime with his furry friends. with his gentle nature, joyful energy, and endless affection, Jackson brings a smile to everyone he meets!!!!!Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.

Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.

Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM.
All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet.
Fees:
Dogs over 6 months old: $100
Puppies under 6 months: $200.
Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip).
