Hi... I'm Sadie. I'm about 5 years old, and I'm still learning what safety feels like. Before I came here, I was part of a large seizure case in Shenandoah County. There were about 20 of us dogs kept in a very small space. It was crowded and confusing, and I didn't always feel safe. I think some of the other dogs may have bullied me a little... so I learned to stay quiet, stay small, and hope for kinder days. I'm still a bit nervous, but I'm trying so hard to open up. Underneath my timid heart, I'm sweet  really sweet. I love soft voices, gentle hands, and running in the yard where the world finally feels big enough for me to breathe. I walk nicely on a leash, and I'm doing my best to be brave one step at a time. I'm not sure how I feel about other dogs or cats yet. I'm still figuring that part out. But what I do know is that I'll blossom with someone patient... someone who understands that healing takes time... someone who will let me learn what love feels like at my own pace. If you have space in your home  and your heart  for a gentle soul who just needs a safe place to land, I'm waiting for you. ?? I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on my vaccines.
