Meet Hoya🌷
💙 Adogs News Account: @_adogs_
1⃣ Health Condition
* Neutered.
* Microchipped and heartworm to be retested in March 2026.
2⃣ Rescue Story
* Hoya was brought to the Cheongju City Shelter and aspired to get human affection. No one adopted Hoya for a while, and he was eventually put on the list of euthanasia. Luckily he was rescued in time.
3⃣ Basic Information
* With People: Is not very much interested in people, and usually shows no aggressive attitude first. Accepts mild human touch. However, if you get him stimulated, such as stroking his head strongly or trying to touch his stomach, you can be bitten because he is reluctant to get it. Is getting training with treats because he needs time to become friendly with people!
* With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs without issue. Prefers having his alone time and roaming around by himself.
* Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed since he is staying at our center.
* Potty Training: Does outdoor potty only at our center.
* Walks: Is usually good at walking, but is getting training because he pulls on the leash out of curiosity.
* Car Sickness: Has not shown symptoms of motion sickness yet.
* Is sensitive to strong touch and may bite in such situation. Especially, he shows more sensitive reactions when being touched the back and feet, so he continues taking training and is improving a lot.
* Is rarely seen barking at school.
* Is playful and runs around when people play together on the playground. Loves treats and enjoys taking a walk.
* Is resistant of being touched strongly. Gentle touch would not let him uncomfortable.

All our dogs fly from South Korea to the US when their adoptions are finalized so the adopters cannot go through "meet and greet."
But once applicants pass zoom interview, we will connect adopter to foster team for the most up to date news as well as photos and videos. The adopter can post any questions and can make video call as well.
Please hold our dog's hands so that they can forget about the painful past and live happily.

More about this rescue
ADOGS(Adopt Dogs), a non-profit organization, is an abandoned dog foster/adoption organization launched by an individual volunteer group that has rescued, fostered, adopted dogs since 2018.
We are conducting rescue, foster, adopt from South Korea rural shelter. We also rescue dogs irregularly from illegal dog farms or any other places that need help.
We rescue large and small dogs of all breeds, including dogs with special needs.
Although we can't save all abandoned dogs in the world, we are doing our best to the dogs in front of us so that their lives can be changed like any other pets.
In expanding our search for adoption leads, we’ve broadened our mission: To bring at-risk dogs across the Pacific to loving stateside families.
Due to limited demand for large-breed dogs in Korea, arranging for local adoption has proven almost impossible. Instead, we seek to bring these persecuted dogs to the United States where dogs have a higher chance for adoption and survival.
