Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Carrie is an extremely sweet German Shepherd who just needs the right person to help her feel safe. She came to us when her owner could no longer care for her, and while she has a gentle heart, she is very nervous in new situations and will need a calm, patient home willing to go at her pace.
Carrie is a flight risk and must be leash-walked at all times, as she can become frightened and try to bolt when overwhelmed. She is especially fearful of men, so introductions will need to be slow and respectful, with lots of patience and reassurance. Because of her anxiety, Carrie requires an adult-only home where things stay quiet and predictable.
Once Carrie begins to trust you, her true personality shines—she is incredibly loving, enjoys playtime, and shows just how sweet she really is. She will do best with an adopter who understands nervous dogs and is committed to helping her build confidence through consistency and gentle guidance.
Carrie is not spayed yet, so she is currently only available for adoption to Pittsylvania County or Danville City residents.
