My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vincent is a confident, easy-going sweetheart who’s ready to leave his street days behind for good. He spent his first four years living outdoors, relying on the kindness of people for food—but it wasn’t enough for him to truly thrive. When Vincent came into care, he was thin and very hungry. Months later, he’s healthy, happy, and absolutely loves mealtime. Because of his past, Vincent can be a little enthusiastic about food, but we believe this will ease once he settles into a home where he knows his next meal is always guaranteed. He’s a sweet, laid-back boy who enjoys companionship and would likely do well in a home with a mature, calm dog. If you’re looking for a charming, resilient companion with a big heart and an even bigger appetite for life, Vincent might just be your perfect match.

More about this shelter

The Gananoque & District Humane Society (GDHS) is a volunteer run no kill animal shelter that takes in abandoned or surrendered animals, provides them with medical care and attempts to find them forever homes. Every animal that enters GDHS is quarantined, assessed and examined by a vet (if necessary), spayed or neutered, microchipped, and given vaccinations prior to being available for adoption. We do not receive guaranteed funding from any source and rely on the generosity of our community.
