Meet Wednesday — The Little Explorer
Wednesday is a gentle kitten who’s just beginning to discover how wonderful life can be. She didn’t have much early contact with people, so new faces and experiences can feel a little overwhelming — but her bravery shines through. She’s the boldest of her litter and always the first to peek out and investigate new things. In her foster home, Wednesday has started to play and explore, showing more curiosity and confidence every day.
She’s wonderfully docile and allows gentle handling, and with patience, love, and a calm environment, she’ll blossom into a trusting, affectionate companion. Wednesday isn’t quite a lap cat yet, but she’s full of quiet courage and the potential for a deep, loving bond. If you have a soft spot for shy kittens with brave little hearts, Wednesday would be thrilled to meet you.

More about this shelter
Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (now known simply as the Montreal SPCA) was the first animal-welfare organization in Canada. It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds. The SPCA has come a long way since its beginnings: today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
