Are you ready to meet your new best friend? Buddy is a loving, energetic pup who’s looking for a home that will give him all the affection and playtime he craves. Once he’s comfortable with you, he’s a Velcro dog who’ll want to be by your side through it all!
Was placed in a foster home for 5 days to get to know him alittle better.
Personality: Sweet, Playful & Goofy: Buddy is a bundle of love who adores belly rubs, cuddles, and playtime. Whether it’s tug-of-war, fetch, or tossing his toys around, he’s always ready to have some fun. He loves stuffies and tugs toys, and despite his enthusiasm, he’s not destructive from what we have seen. Watch out for his excited nibbles and the paws flailing when he gets excited lol.
Vocal: loves to bark, either outside at strangers and dogs or inside if he hears noises outside.
Snuggle Buddy: When he’s not playing, Buddy is all about chillin` and napping. He loves to be tucked in with a blanket and will happily sleep beside you or even in your bed. Watch for adorable his dreams and some gentle snoring!
Behavior & Training:
House Trained: Buddy is fully house-trained. Last break at 11:30/12 and morning break at 6:30/7:30
Crate/Pen: Buddy does not enjoy being crated or penned and may bark excessively if confined. He would prefer to roam freely around the house and will need some time to adjust if crating is necessary.
Separation Anxiety: Buddy may experience some separation anxiety, especially at first. He thrives when he’s your constant companion and would love a home where he can be close to you most of the time. (You won’t be alone for bathroom breaks anymore!)
Meals: Buddy is a grazer who enjoys dry food throughout the day, with some canned food on the side or mixed in. He’s gentle when taking food from your hand and loves treats, especially beef liver and chicken jerky. He has been known to try and cover up his meals for later!
Leash Walking & Excitability: Buddy is an excitable walker who can be reactive to dogs and strangers, particularly men. This excitement can cause him to grab and play tug on his leash while jumping like a kangaroo lol. He’s also quick to jump at passing cars but settles down once he’s had a good amount of exercise.
He also loves sniffing everything along the way, and if he catches a scent trail, watch out—he’ll pick up the pace!
His favorite walks are the ones in a field on a long line

We require potential adopters to fill out an pre-adoption application. If that application is approved, the dog/cat must be spayed/neutered before it leaves our shelter (if not already done). If it is a puppy under 4 months old, we allow it to go home with the adopters under a foster care agreement until it is old enough to be returned for spay/neuter. Kittens are allowed to leave before spay/neuter is done, but they must be done within a certain time frame.
Fees: Dogs/puppies range from $150-300, depending on if they came in already spayed/neutered or if we paid to have that done.
Cats range from $80 - $140, though we often have deals on older cats or cats that have been there a long time.
Kittens are $60 with $25 refunded once it has been spayed/neutered.
All adoptions include at least the first vaccination, deworming, de-fleaing, microchip ID, and 6 weeks of pet insurance.
