My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The word Bear can describe many things. It symbolizes strength, courage, healing and introspection. In many Indigenous cultures bear represents family and resilience.
This Bear is looking for a home who will help him to become the best representation of his name that he can be.
Bear's journey is one of healing and resilience and has not been easy. He is learning to trust humans which has been scary for him at times. Bear loves food and it has helped as a tool, when working with him to become more trusting.
Bear's perfect home would be quiet with people or a person who is willing to have patience and understanding while Bear adapts to a different kind of life than the one has had in the past.
Will need a home with other cats would highly benefit this feline.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
