My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At 14 years young, Petunia still has plenty of sparkle, sass, and personality. She’s a chatty companion who loves to cuddle, chirp at birds from a window, and be right in the middle of whatever you’re doing. Anyone who’s met her agrees she’s truly one of a kind.

Petunia Grace loves being the center of attention and would prefer to be your one-and-only. She can tolerate respectful adult dogs who give her space, and when it comes to cats, she prefers calm, independent kitties who won’t pester her—curious kittens are definitely not her style. She may be okay with gentle, older children who understand boundaries and won’t grab at her.

This special girl does have some medical needs, but she handles them like a champ. Petunia has a malformed lower-back disc (likely from birth or an old injury) and takes gabapentin twice daily to stay comfortable. She also recently started medication for hyperthyroidism which is a liquid that she takes in her wet food and she is responding well so far. She’s wonderful at vet visits and very cooperative.  The total fee monthly for her medication is about $80.

Petunia’s ideal home is one where she can stretch her legs, explore, and enjoy plenty of stimulation and engagement. She can get a bit grumpy if she feels ignored or bored, so a household with time and space for her is where she’ll truly thrive. She absolutely loves being a work-from-home buddy and will happily supervise your day with soft chatter and plenty of affection.

Her current owner is facing medical and financial challenges of her own that make it hard to give Petunia the environment she needs, so they’re hoping to find her the loving forever home she deserves—one where she’ll be showered with comfort, attention, and all her favorite things.

Petunia Grace lives in Portland with her family.  Her rehoming fee is $35

More about this rescue

Cat's Cradle Rescue keeps cats out of shelters by offering an alternative to a cage - we are a no-kill FOSTER-HOME BASED rescue group that welcomes cats to our home environments as they await adoption.

Why Foster Care? Does your new kitty like children? Does she play with dogs or find other felines too uncomfortable to be around? Does he have consistent litter-box manners? Does he want to cuddle or perhaps his comfort zone is to be more independent. Many life-factors influence cat behavior and while genetics plays a role, we know that human touch, kindness, nurturing and consistency of care are non-negotiable requirements. We provide all of this.
