Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Feller is an adorable 8-month-old Beagle puppy bursting with playfulness and love. With his curious nose and wagging tail, he’s always ready for fun, exploring every corner and turning even the simplest moments into an adventure. Dude’s joyful energy is matched only by his affectionate nature—he loves being close to his people and soaking up all the attention he can get. This sweet, spirited pup is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend who brings excitement, laughter, and plenty of cuddles.

Established in 1962 as a valuable service to the people of Macon County. We are a registered 501c3.
In 2014, to avoid being confused with the new county animal control facility, the Mason County Humane Society began doing business as Appalachian Animal Rescue Center, a no-kill humane society.
Our shelter, located at 851 Lake Emory Road in Franklin, houses some 80-100 dogs and cats. Animal Care Technicians provide for our animals 365 days a year. We offer low-cost spaying and neutering, vaccines, and microchip implantation through Humane Alliance, and ASPCA clinic in Asheville. We take in animals from the public, as well as animals from the county shelter, and place them in permanent homes. Our transport program, meanwhile, gives cats and dogs a second chance in areas of the country where available pets are scarce.
