My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Copper Dog was brought in by their previous owner on 11/9/25.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Copper Dog, a spirited adult canine with a knack for escapades and a heart full of love. Despite her tendency to seek adventures beyond the fence, she craves companionship and often feels distressed when left alone. Copper Dog needs a patient and loving owner who can provide a secure environment and spend quality time with her. Her ideal home would offer lots of interaction and perhaps even some training to help manage her spirited nature. Adopt Copper Dog and fill your life with joy and boundless energy! Cooper dog came in with her doggie buddy, Dexstar (856236).

At SDHS:
Copper Dog has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Copper Dog is now ready for her new home! If you're interested in adopting Copper Dog visit our Escondido Campus!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
