Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐾 Meet Topaz 🐾
Topaz is a 4-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing 50 pounds with a bright personality and lots of love to give. She originally came to the shelter as a stray, was adopted, and has since returned because she doesn't share well.
Topaz does best when treats and meals are given separately from other pets, as she prefers to enjoy her goodies on her own. With this simple management in place, she can thrive in a home environment. She seems to do well with other dogs and would love a family that understands her needs and is willing to help her succeed.
Topaz is ready for a fresh start with someone who will provide structure, patience, and love—and in return, she’ll be a devoted companion.
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Microchipped
✔️ Spayed
If you’re looking for a sweet dog who just needs a little extra understanding at mealtime, Topaz may be the perfect fit for your home.

More about this shelter
Norman Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Norman, Oklahoma. In addition to providing a safe environment for our adoptable animals we also are responsible for the enforcement of all animal related laws within the City of Norman and holding all stray animals that are located. In addition to these main roles, we also provide public microchipping, city pet licensing, and other educational services to our community.
We average approximately 3,400 animals in and out of our facility each year. We have an amazing facility that fully opened in 2016. We operate daily with a very limited staff supported by several amazing volunteers. We operate an active foster program and are always seeking to work with those in our community interested in assisting us in our mission.
