Fluffy former teen mom and handsome future house panther kitten seek home together... 1 year old Nellie and 6 month old Yule have bonded quickly in their foster home.

Yule is a patient, gentle, playful boy who brought fearful but sweet Nellie out of hiding with his adorable antics. She joins him in daily games of chase, stalk the fly and their joint favorite: foster-mom-wand-acrobatics.

Yule is an expert cuddler and loves to sleep politely at the foot of the bed with his foster mom. Nellie enjoys pets in her own bed (purrs like a champ) and relaxes there with her fluffy feet hanging out. They share a litter-box and have perfect litter-box habits. They also love their cardboard scratchers.

Nellie and Yule are a truly joyful pair!

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 kittens up to 6 months
$120 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note, Adoption and Pet Resource Center lines close at 6:00 p.m. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
