My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOG WALKING PROGRAM. YELLOW LEVEL 1,SN NOTES FROM THE DOG WALKERS: FRIENDLY, PLAYFUL, GENTLE, WELL BEHAVED, HOUSEBROKEN, SMART AND TRAINABLE, EASY TO WALK, PULLS OCCASIONALLY, KNOWS COMMAND SIT.SN ---------- Meet ATHENA! Athena is listed as a 4 year old spayed shepsky (shepherd husky) mix in the 76-100 lbs range - she's a big, beautiful girl! I adore her coloring and build, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's some other larger breed mixed in with her! She became an owner turn in for reasons I do not know on 11/21/2025. Athena gets excited to see you at her kennel door, but she's easy as ever to collar and handle! This sociable girl is marked as easy to walk, well behaved, AND she is noted as housebroken - what a catch! Athena also already knows Sit and she could likely learn more commands given her eager to please personality and intelligence! She has a gentle, soft vibe overall despite the fact she looks for someone when she gets outside. What would help Athena out the most is getting adopted into a HOME for the holidays so she can start to rebuild her life with YOU by her side! Please meet this pretty canine at AFV so you can fall in love with her big heart in person, then ADOPT to give Athena the best gift of all - a fur-ever HOME and FAMILY! AFV can possibly accommodate out of area adoptions with transport in many circumstances. If you are interested, please contact Phil at facility@afv.org Not ready to adopt? Have some time and space and want to help give these doggies a chance to experience home life and have a break from the shelter? Please consider FOSTERING! If you are interested please email foster@afv.org.
