My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chilly is a gentle, observant kitten with a calm, sweet personality and an adorable black freckle on her nose that makes her extra special.

She can be a bit shy at first, but don’t worry, she only takes a couple days to feel comfortable in a new space. Once she settles in, Chilly shows her affectionate side. She enjoys being near her people and will always greet you at the door when you come home.

Playtime is where Chilly really steals the show — spring toys are her absolute favorite. She doesn’t just bat them around; she proudly carries them in her mouth like prized treasures, bouncing, pouncing, and trotting around with them in pure joy.

When it comes to affection, Chilly likes love on her own terms. She may not want to be held for very long (except for her morning loves, when she’ll nestle in to make up for missed time), but she’s a big fan of armpit scritches and will happily lean in, purring contentedly. She’s the kind of cat who shows her love by choosing to be close to you, quietly devoted and always nearby.

Sweet, playful, and full of gentle charm, Chilly is the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a cat with personality, boundaries, and a whole lot of love to give. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow with an adorable nose freckle and a serious spring-toy obsession, Chilly may be your perfect match.

Chilly has tested negtive for FIV and Feline Leukemia . She is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
