Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I'm Anchovy. I'm still adjusting to my new environment here at Abandoned Pet Rescue because my life has not been easy. I had been living outdoors around Oakland Park blvd, and I would shy away from any human that would try to approach me. However, a group of concerned Samaritans began feeding me and were able to bring me here to Abandoned Pet Resuce. I'm still a little bit fearful about going outdoors, but I'm mustering the courage to do so because of the kind volunteers and staff members at the rescue. Despite my past, I'm a sweet boy that loves treats and food and being petted. I'm working toward building up my self-confidence and I'm sure that with a patient and kind person or family, I'll make huge strides like the ones I have been making here at Abandoned Pet Rescue.
I'm vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and ready for a patient, loving home. To adopt Anchovy please fill out an application at abandonedpetrescue.org
Abandoned Pet Rescue is a no-kill shelter in Fort Lauderdale that gives second chances to dog like Anchovy. To meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.

More about this shelter
Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.
APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
