Tobias is the endearingly quirky star resident of our partner location Queen City Cat Lounge. After being relinquished from a hoarding situation where he was very undersocialized, he has spent a lot of time getting used to humans. Over the last 8 months in our care, this unique boy has completely blossomed into the friendly companion we knew he could become. He is often the first to greet guests, and is incredibly observant and curious.
Tobias has recently allowed us to pet him, but prefers a side-approach from strangers whom he doesn't know well. He’s still cautious about strangers reaching out to touch him. Once he is comfortable with you, he will allow his face and head to be petted. When his people are out of eyesight, he calls out for them with a sweet little “hawwaw?” chirp if he’s craving company. Tobias is still learning cat-human etiquitte, and uses his claws when he is feeling particularly grabby (especially around Churu treats)! He is not afraid of mops, brooms, or vacuums, purr-efering to come close to inspect and play with these implements.
He is a natural at feline diplomacy, showing his affection and trust by headbutting them, and gently wrestling with his fellow teenage kittens, Rachel (his girlfriend!). He continues to blossom every day, and is a terrific companion to other cats. He adores playing with feathered or ribbon wand toys, and will chase ping pong balls, and other bouncing, skittering objects of interest.

We are a group of dedicated volunteers in Burlington, VT with a focus on rescuing and caring for stray and abandoned cats in our community. We provide safe, loving foster homes for cats of all ages until they are adopted. They receive socialization, a nutritious diet, any necessary vet care (including spay/neuter surgery) and lots of TLC while in our care. We do our best to find the right home for each cat considering their unique personalities and ongoing needs. We also offer resources, advice and support to cat caretakers in our area.
