Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there, I'm Stevie and I am 2 1/2 months old. My brother Ozzy and I came to TAPS from DeWitt County Animal Control. I am a darling tabby boy who was born without eyes, but don't you worry -- I get around fine with my whiskers, ears, and most of all...with my brother Ozzy. He's my guide, my playmate, my comfort, and I feel brave as long as he is nearby. I'm a gentle, cuddly kitten who loves warm, laps, soft voices, and slow, loving pets. I listen carefully to the world, and once I learn the layout of the room, I move around with more confidence. I just need a patient home that will help me learn the space safely and watch over things like stairs until I've mastered them. Even though I can't see, I feel everything -- love, kindness, safety -- and I give it all back with purrs, snuggles, and trust. I'm resilient, sweet, and ready for my forever home...as long as Ozzy comes with me. If you think Ozzy and I might be the right fit for your forever family, please fill out an online application today.

TAPS-Tazewell Animal Protective Society was founded in 1958 in Pekin Illinois in a building donated by the City of Pekin on River Road. In 1979, rapidly rising river water forced the evacuation of the animals. Once again, the City of Pekin stepped in and donated a building for the animals. Several moves later, and with the help and generosity of many volunteers and community members, TAPS now has a new home at 100 TAPS Lane. Last year we celebrated 50 year of caring for the homeless animals of Central Illinois.
