Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! I am a sweet little guy that came to OCAS from another shelter. I`m very friendly and I did great with my intake exam & vaccines. I do have dental issues and OCAS recommends that you follow up with a full-service veterinarian for advice about that and other genera/routine care, especially since I am a senior. I deserve all the best and I`ll make you smile every day if you adopt me!
Foster notes on Tanner:
`Tanner is a very sweet and energetic boy! He is fifteen years old but does not act like it at all! He does not like to walk up a lot of stairs (or can`t) and needs help getting up in a bed or couch. Other than that he likes to run and walk and try to chase after geese. He is not a fan of cats and would probably be best in a house that doesn`t have any. He loves to cuddle and snore in your face. He requires that he gets under the covers to be little spoon. He loves a pup cup and to ride in front seat with the windows rolled down. He is very quiet and would make a great companion to anyone!`
`Tanner is a friendly, affectionate dog. When I take him for walks he is very energetic. He doesn`t heel, so you have to accept that he will scamper here or there, pulling on his leash. This is not so much of a problem, however, because of his small size. Tanner is a very quiet, gentle dog. He only barks when he sees another dog. Whenever he wants attention he has a sweet way of placing his front paws on you and gazing at you.`

Please visit http://www.orangecountync.gov/287/Available-Pets if you have questions about available pets, adopting, or visiting our facility. You may also call 919-942-7387, option 3, to speak with a staff member at our adoption desk.
If the staff is unable to answer right away, please leave a clear message with your full name and contact number. Our staff responds to messages in the order they are received. Every effort will be made to respond to messages the same day, but it is possible that you may not receive a callback until the next business day due to the high volume of calls we often receive. See our operating hours on our website.
-Adopting-
Some animals can be taken home the same day they are adopted, but those adoptions must occur before a certain time of day and are dependent upon several factors. If you are interested in taking a pet home on the same day you adopt, please consult with the adoption desk to find out if that pet is able to go home right away. See more information on adoption and adoption fees on our website.
